Beauty

Over the past 2 years, I have become obsessed with oils. Oils for my body, oils for my face, oils for my hair, oils for cleaning, oils for diffusing, oils for everything!! Seriously, there is an oil for everything.

2 years ago, I decided to make more of an effort to take pride in my appearance and ownership over my body and mind. I was at a low, stressed, in the middle of a depression and I finally got so low that I needed to take charge.

I had always since I could remember gotten my hair straightened with a relaxer. I remember going every 2 weeks to our hairdresser and either getting a flat iron styled into a ponytail with "bumped ends"or when I was a little older, sitting under the dryer with a wet set. I loooved the way I felt with my hair straightened. I actually still do. I get my hair straightened and don't know how to act. Cue the snapchat selfies. BUT I had never learned to actually care for my natural hair and definitely never loved it. I barely even knew what it actually looked like. I remember in grade school someone asking me if my hair were naturally straight and I said yes because I honestly couldn't even tell them what my hair type was.

When my natural hair process started, I was so frustrated. I hated my natural hair. It was super heat damaged. It was no where near the length I wanted. The texture was all over the place. I had no clue how to use any of the natural hair products. So, after regressing a few times, I found youtube videos that taught me how to care for my hair. The best, most amazing thing I learned were about oils. I credit 85% of my hair growth to oils. The oils I use in my DIY growth oil, I've found work the best for my hair.
